Why Hello
Friday, July 17, 2009

This may very well be my last post before term commences as I will be tending to my long-forsaken homework during these last days. Excuse the choppiness of this post - my need to document everything about anything simply took over:

Instead of doing my homework, I have been busy practising my button-sewing skills. My mum praised me for my ability to sew a row of buttons... It was not impressive, hahaha. I rummaged through my mum's sewing things and I came across a large bag full of buttons (!!!) I picked out some of my favourite gold ones:

The large crested button next to the gold chain was a one-off, unfortunately.

I also went shopping and purchased these two:

Bauhaus 'wet' look denim jeans
I bought the jeans in a size too big, thus the 'garbage bag around legs' look... It certainly enhances the 'wet' look, doesn't it?

Tokito skirt

What I wore that day, minus the scary mask:

I went to see the much anticipated Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince last night with my friends. Overall, it was very humorous but I think my personal verdict would be less snogging, more wand brandishing! There was not enough spell-casting or running around for my liking. The film was missing a few parts from the novel, such as Apparition lessons, certain memories, and the house-elves (just to name a few). I thought it was lackluster; the film did no justice to the brilliance of Weasley's Wizard Wheezes (say it fast 5 times without developing a lisp, I dare you!). In my opinion, if the audience was to watch the film without having read the novel, they would be entirely lost. Of course, they would not know of the missing parts, which is a shame because the novels are true genius. This is not to say the films are not fantastic, of course they are! The wonderful representations of much-loved characters truly brings the novels to life. I have to say, the special effects in Half-Blood Prince are amazing. Truly amazing. And I have truly out-gayed myself.

Year 11 retreat is coming up - hopefully it will be a blast! Oookay, well I hope everyone on holidays enjoys the last few days of rest and is prepared for another term. I'm bracing myself. In the least vulgar way possible.

P.S. Apologies for the incoherency in this post today! I really should not be mashing up niches like this. Ugh.

The Short of The Long
Friday, July 10, 2009

Holidays are never all that fun, but they certainly beat days at school. I think I've reached the point where I am just dwelling at home without any idea as to what day or time it is. I am currently relying on the colour of the sky to tell me what to do.

What's my age again? My birthday was yesterday. I think it is enough to say I will stick to pizza and a movie next time 'round. Maybe I have avoided death too many times to ever have a mildly entertaining birthday celebration without it transforming into a major grievance. I thank my friends for making the effort to come and I apologise for how God-awful it was. I think I'll need a new voice box fitted in to me because the one I am currently equipped with is not fit enough for any form of karaoke or singing. Or maybe I will just need to pull that rat out of my throat.

My holiday time has been mostly spent on surfing the Internet. Unfortunately I get fed up with it after a while because I am constantly being visually molested by annoying adverts which have somehow managed to worm their way in to every web page out there. Now I am left to stare at my computer screen, listen to old music (because new ones suck), all the while trying to avoid the constant Facebook alerts I am receiving in my e-mail inbox. Time to open that maths textbook.

In recent events, I spent a week at my primary school for work experience. To answer any questions, no I do not want to become a teacher (shoot me!) and yes, I am slightly out of my mind. I expected the week to be very tedious and how right I was. Haha, just kidding, it was only a little bit tiring. The young children were incredibly cute and some were very creepy. I received this drawing from a young boy in preschool:

Aside from the fact that my skin in this drawing is 100 times darker, I love it. (The drawing, that is.)

The first week of holidays has just about passed, and I feel unaccomplished. I think I might read a few books as I have realised how little reading I have done during these past few months. It is shocking! I am in the midst of reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince again, just to refresh my memory before the movie premieres in Australia. I cannot wait to see it!

As you may have noticed, the blog as a new layout!

For the first time in Chinese-Voodoo history, this layout features rollovers! The geek inside of me is squealing with joy hahaha! For those who cannot care less about HTML or web design, hover your mouse over the links in the header section ("blog, profile, about exits"). You will notice they slightly glow! Cool? No? Okay I will shut up now, haha. I'll have you know it took me ages to figure that out, so an applaud for my efforts would be nice HAHA. Really, I will shut up now.

Have a nice weekend! I'll leave you with some photos:

P.S. My mum is constantly making me practice for my driver's test. I really do not want to drive - manual, no less! - in fear of causing harm to the public. Shoot me.
